Abstract:
Electronic characteristics, structure and thermodynamic properties of different carbon states are analyzed. The results of thermal evolution of carbon phases from liquid metallic state up to fullerite, including glassy-carbon and amorphous phases, are compared. The conditions for phase transformations of various carbon systems are determined as well as dynamics of C60 fullerene destruction under heating. Nature of superconductivity of fullerites, doped with atoms of metals (Ti, V, Zr, Pd), is discussed.
