Abstract:
Models of liquid aluminum and iron at T//m of a crystal at the same temperature and of a superheated liquid metal are compared using a molecular dynamics method. The heat of phase transition and the relaxation time for the closest neighborhood are estimated, and the kinetic coefficients and thermodynamic characteristics are calculated. The structure of the first coordination sphere is studied. The most probable statistical configuration in liquid aluminum is close to a regular icosahedron. In the liquid iron model the proportion of such polyhedrons is much smaller.
