Abstract:
Investigations of the influence of additions of solid fuel on the hardening kinetics of cylindrical ore fuel compacts of different basicity made at a pressure of 1 kN cm** minus **2 are described. The optimum basicity for obtaining strong, high basicity pellets was found to be 0. 85-1. 15. Attempts to increase the solid fuel content in the initial specimens with the aim of improving the metallurgical properties of the product make it necessary to lower basicity to avoid the danger of pellets fusing together because of early liquid phase formation.
