Abstract:
A study has been made of the possibility of raising blast temperature with blast-furnace hot-blast stoves working with an incompletely closed mixer and without a by-pass. Use was made of a more accurate method of calculating transient heat processes in regenerative plants for blast heating conversion of the stoves of a 3000 m**3 blast furnace to work without a mixer for hot and cold blast enables the temperature of air heated in the plant to be raised by 40-50 degree C. Study of the thermal performance of stoves with a mixer incompletely closed (at the start of the period) has shown that such a cooling regime enables blast temperature to be raised with a reduction in its fluctuations in the period and, thus, the influence of changes in air temperature on the thermal and aerodynamic conditions of blast-furnace operation to be reduced.
