Abstract:
A procedure is described for determining the characteristic temperatures of iron ore pellets of hematite ore concentrate of different size grading during non-isothermal heating at a constant rate. Dilatometric measurements as well as heating curve determinations were made. The experimental findings show that a reduction in the size of the initial mix promotes an increase in interparticle total contact area and in the proportion of fine pores, both these factors contributing to better heating of the pellet.
