Abstract:
Characteristics of the distribution, numbers, and morphology of the common newt from populations exposed to various degrees of anthropogenic impact are reported. Some features of adaptive importance are noted. The common newt is a species that can potentially inhabit small urban bodies of water and be used for bioindication of environmental quality.
