Abstract:
Process of producing the ferrotitanium from ilmenite concentrates has been considered. The process should be improved in order to increase extraction of titanium from the concentrates. Calculations of material balance of aluminothermal reduction of the concentrates have been performed. Chemical composition of the concentrates has been presented. Methods of improvement in extraction of titanium from the concentrates have been discussed. Technology for producing the ferrotitanium in electric furnaces has been developed. Decrease in harmful emissions into atmosphere has been provided.
