Abstract:
Process of blast furnace slag granulation has been considered. Efficiency of application of airlift in the system has been shown. The first granulation plant was constructed at blast furnace with working volume of 5,500 cu. m. in 1973. System with airlift is characterized by reliability and simple design. Experimental plant for airlift pumping of slag-water pulp. Scheme of the plant has been presented. Investigation of the plant have been performed. Results of the investigations have shown that productivity of airlift is dependent on air consumption. Mode of curves of productivity is well explained by law of three-phase mixture flow. The results will be used for creating the method of three-phase lift calculation.
