Abstract:
The growth of a dendrite deposit of lead is studied in fluoborate and nitrate electrolytes containing 0.75 M Pb2+ at various supporting electrolyte concentrations. The results are used to determine migration constituents of discharge currents at dendrite tops. It is found that the absolute value of the migration flow towards dendrite tops may be essential even in the presence of an excess of a foreign electrolyte. This effect is due to a high current density at the tops caused by spherical diffusion.
