Abstract:

Accelerated cooling of steel strip coils in the course of heat treatment in controlled atmosphere furnaces is considered, particularly for circulation of the gas and its cooling in external coolers. A relation is derived for the influence of the thermal performance of the cooler on the cooling time of the stack of coils.
