Abstract:
An analytic solution to the problem of heat transfer between the gas and three material flows (coke, pig iron, and slag) is obtained which is applicable to the lower part of a blast furnace. The results of a computer calculation of the temperature distributions of the flows of heated materials and gas along the height of the zone of total melting of the iron ore materials are presented. An analysis is made of the effect of mutual heat transfer between the material flows and the part of the coke surface covered with slag on the temperature field in this zone.
