Abstract:
A problem characteristic for the heating of a bed of iron-ore pellets on a strand machine with combined combustion of gaseous fuels is considered. The special features of heat exchange with gas combustion in a pellet bed have been investigated. A mathematical formulation and an analytical solution of the problem are given. Equations describing the temperature of the material and gas in the bed have been obtained in the form of a sum of integrals. Numerical calculations have been carried out with the aid of an electronic computer. Comparison of calculated values of the temperature of the material with experimental data has given good agreement.
