Abstract:
An investigation is made of the ionizing properties of the radiation generated on dielectric and metallic surfaces by illumination with a Q-switched laser beam. The current in an ionization chamber is used to obtain information on the spectral composition of such radiation and its propagation inside the chamber. A determination is made of the amount of energy carried away by the radiation in a specified spectral range.
