Abstract:
The effect of temperature ranges is analyzed for heating an ingot of (alpha + beta)-lead brasses on material phase composition in an extruder container and in a finished object. It is established that the optimum extrusion temperature range is 780-800A degrees C, i.e., 100A degrees C below the solidus line and above the temperature of phase transition from the (alpha + beta)-condition to the beta-condition. Industrial experiments are completed for increasing extrusion temperature and establishing improvement of ultimate strength distribution over the length of a workpiece by 8\%, and uniformity of relative elongation distribution by 34\%.
