Abstract:
An autodyne effect in UHF oscillators is presented for autonomous features investigation and checking its performance by means of the autodyne mode implementation. In this report operation modes analysis of active non-linear Gunn diodes is discussed on the base of autodyne effect which has an essential importance at studying and developing of oscillators, particularly, at research of the total electronic conductivity of diode active region. This relates mainly to the determination possibility of dependence on UHF oscillation amplitude and frequency, as well as a bias. Theoretical investigations of total electronic conductivity of diode active region are fulfilled under autodyne effect. It is shown that the essential relation presence between autodetection occurring in Delta/ (A,omega) function and oscillation parameters variations have to take into consideration at autonomous Gunn diodes oscillators analysis and their modulation and fluctuations properties. Some aspects of autodyne effect applications are considered for technical characteristics checking of oscillations system. Experimental researches of autodyne traces registered by the external detector for millimeter Gunn diode in cases of approaching and recessive reflector confirmed theoretical results. The well-known phenomenon of frequency noise spectrum asymmetry of anisochronous oscillator has the correlation between amplitude and phase fluctuations and can also serve as additional confirmation of dispersed dependence of the autodyne frequency deviation of Gunn diode oscillator.
