Abstract:
It is pointed out that recondensation is a very important factor and may responsible for failure of a number of technological processes. For instance, fuel recondensation inside the fuel element of the nuclear reactor results in the destruction of the clad of this fuel element. This paper presents the research results concerning recondensation of the material of cylinder walls, with different radial temperature dependences. It is shown that four radial recondensation regimes are possible in cylindrical volumes. Each regime is described. A conclusion is made that a great variety of factors should be taken into account to predict recondensation processes in high-temperature devices.
