Abstract:
Checking the continuity and integrity of protective enamel coatings on metals is becoming more important. Of the known methods of detecting faults the simplest is the spark method, based on the development of a high-voltage spark discharge between electrodes - the probe of the defectoscope and the section of the uncoated metal. However, for all its simplicity and convenience, this method is suitable only for detecting the presence of faults. One of the means of overcoming the above drawbacks, is to change the form of the discharge, i.e., to use a corona instead of a spark.
