Abstract:
Enamelled steel pipes for the oil industry, used in corrosive media, should possess a high chemical resistance. The important factor here is the continuity of the coating. Through the pores, scales, and other defects in the coating, the corrosive medium reaches the surface of the steel, which leads to laminated and point-like corrosion. Therefore, in enamelled steel-pipe departments the control of the coating's continuity is essential. The high-voltage method is the most commonly used. Experience with the industrial use of this glass showed that, possessing excellent working properties, in particular acid- and water-resistance.
