Abstract:
Governing equations describing a convective mushy layer near the inner core boundary of the Earth are solved analytically in the case of arbitrary heat and mass transfer coefficients. A complete steady-state solution is found in terms of the bulk fraction of the solid phase in a mushy layer. © 2015 AIP Publishing LLC.
