Abstract:

Exact analytical solutions of nonlinear equations describing directional solidification of binary melts with a mushy layer are constructed. The primary interdendritic spacing in a mushy layer is analytically found on the basis of the selection theory of stable dendritic growth. © 2015 AIP Publishing LLC.
