Abstract:
The purpose of this paper is to provide some insights about entrepreneurship education in Russia and to explore Russian student's entrepreneurial intentions. Understanding Russian youth's attitude towards entrepreneurship and factors hindering young people from creating their own business are highlighted. The study is based on data collected in Sverdlovsk region (one of the regions of Russia). The research is based on information received during a survey of 347 people from Sverdlovsk region and 1164 students from Ural Federal University. Empirical evidence shows that people aged from 16 to 23 years tend to have higher entrepreneurial motivation and are more likely to become entrepreneurs. Youth's attitude towards entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial intentions, and factors hindering young people from creating own business affect the concept of entrepreneurial education. The study extends insights into specifics of the Russian entrepreneurial education.
