Abstract:
The melting of an FSB high-silicon boron-containing ferroalloy using FS65 ferrosilicon and borate ore (colemanite) as a reducing agent is studied. The reduction of boron is estimated as a function of the temperature, the interaction time, and the type of boron-containing raw material. On the basis of the obtained results, the main parameters of making of a complex Fe–Si–B alloy have been determined. © 2015, Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.
