Abstract:
Constructively testable stabilization conditions are derived for a class of nonlinear controlled systems. The construction of optimal stabilizing controls for the original nonlinear system is reduced to the construction of optimal controls for simple linear stationary systems with quadratic performance functionals. An appropriate formalization of the coefficients of the auxiliary quadratic functionals in the original nonlinear stabilization problem leads to an iterative approximation process that produces controls satisfying the performance requirements. The proposed control synthesis method is applied to stabilize the equilibrium of a rigid body using engines and flywheels.
