Abstract:

Piano wire and strings are an important acoustic element of musical instruments and are among those metal products the production of which requires strict observation of the method. The purpose of this investigation was a study of features of the influence of carbon content on the acoustic properties of steel wire and determination of the correlation relationship between certain physical and mechanical characteristics of steel and the quality of sound of the string.
