Abstract:

The possibility of production of high-strength steel wire in which is suppressed the tendency toward a specific form of brittle fracture, mechanical separation into layers in torsion, was considered in {[}1] as a high-priority production problem. An analysis of the model of the process of separation into layers of steel with a fibrous structure shows {[}2] that progressing development of microcracks occurring in drawing may be limited by alloying of the steel with elements weakening the process of dynamic strain aging.
