Abstract:
A self-consistent theory of spin fluctuations of itinerant antiferromagnets described by the spin-density-wave (SDW) model is developed . It is shown that the spin fluctuations produce a decrease in the Neel temperature T(N) as compared to the T(N) value predicted by the average field theory. A new short-range order type induced by thermodynamical fluctuations of the antiferromagnetic gap is discussed. This model of short-range magnetic order is described by experimental results on the existence of SDW paramagnons.
