Abstract:
Resistivity and Hall coefficient in p-Hg1-xMnxTe with x = 0.085 and N(A) - N(D) = 2 x 10(16) cm-3 in the temperature range 1.8-50 K under uniaxial stress up to 2 kbar in a magnetic field H < 50 kOc were measured. It was shown that without a magnetic field, acceptor ionization energies decrease with uniaxial compression as in the nonmagnetic semiconductors HgCdTe and InSb. Nonmonotonic depdendences of resistivity on magnetic field were found under uniaxial stress. It was ascribed to nonmonotonic behaviour of acceptor ionization energy in this situation due to unusual quantization of energy spectrum in dilute magnetic semiconductors under stress.
