Abstract:
The temperature and frequency dependence of impedance of a new class of four-component chalcogenides having the general formula: (GeS)1-x(AgAsS2)x (with x = 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.5, and 0.9), were investigated at frequencies from 10(-2) to 10(5) Hz and temperatures from 78 to 500 K. Silver ion conduction was detected; its relative share depended on composition. For the composition with x = 0.5, the ionic conductivity at 300 K was close to 100\%. The temperature ranges were established within which ionic transport became important. The lowest temperature for the onset of ionic transport (120-150 K) was observed for the composition with x = 0.5. Certain electrical properties of the compound CuGeAsS3 were also investigated.
