Abstract:
The influence of the interference of the electron de Broglie waves near the metal surface on the electromagnetic generation of ultrasound is considered. Calculations are performed in the framework of the free electron model. The expression for the amplitude of the generated acoustic wave differs from the quasiclassical one firstly because the surface impedance changes and secondly due to the fact that the interference of the electron waves leads to the appearence of additional force concentrated near the surface.
