Abstract:
A large metal chondrule has been observed amongst the small fragments of the Kaidun meteorite that broke up naturally (on fall and during transportation). The chondrule was a flattened sphere. Diameter 0.88cm, size along the flattening axis 0.67cm. Mass 2.00g. The chondrule was coated with a crust, which was uneven, hummocky, and in places showed cleavage. No characteristic micrometeorite craters were found. The chondrule was cut approximately along the flattening axis and one of the fragments was used to make a polished section. -from Journal summary
