Anyone can become a volunteer!

Volunteering is not a new phenomenon in the modern society. In Russia the culture of voluntary work and helping each other has been going on for years. The opportunity of becoming a part of a historical event, helping elderly people and orphanages, protecting nature and urban environment is just a small part of the volunteers’ concerns. With their actions they make the world around them better and keep peace every day. Everyone can get the experience of voluntary work. Charitable funds and social organizations constantly need help of enthusiasts. If you have a will, strength and time to help and be helpful to society without getting any profit from it – you can just respond to the offer or leave your application paper on a website of the organization of your interest. As a part of the 26th annual all-Russian volunteer campaign «Spring Week of Kindness» library staff prepared an exhibition «Roads of kindness» (Information Centre of Humanities, 4 Turgeneva St., room 269). The exposition offers insight into volunteering work of our days, and presents the literature about famous people who can become an example to everyone. Books from the library’s fiction collection dedicated to kindness, love and mercy hold a special place. The exhibition will be open until the 1st of June 2022. |
