The Story of Distant and Near Space as Told in Books

Each year, the UN holds the World Space Week between October 4 and 10. Fascinating excursions, meetings with scientists, lectures on celestial bodies and on exploring distant planets will take place all over the world. This international celebration is the biggest event devoted to issues of cosmic space.

Ural Federal University Library has prepared a compilation of printed and electronic books on space research:

- Space biology and medicine: joint U.S./Russian publication : in five volumes / series ed. by Arnauld E. Nicogossian, Stanley R. Mohler, Oleg G. Gazenko, Anatoliy I. Grigoryev is a four-volume edition highlighting biological and medical problems of physical and psychophysical conditions of people in outer space or in a confined space of a spaceship.
- Prölss Gerd W. Physics of the Earth's space environment. An introduction (2004) and Solar and Heliospheric Origins of Space Weather Phenomena, ed. by J.-P. Rozelot (2006) are two books offering insights on the Earth's space environment and space weather published by Springer.
- Zhukov, G. International Space Law / G. Zhukov, Y. Kolosov ; transl. by B. Belitzky is a digital edition on international space law accessible via the electronic library “University Library Online”.

The availability of the above mentioned and other books is indicated in the electronic catalogue.
