On November 6, 2022 we will celebrate the 170th anniversary of the birth of the famous Russian writer Dmitry Narkisovich Mamin-Sibiryak. In the Urals he is an iconic figure famous for numerous literary monuments describing life in this region. His books opened the Urals for Russia and the whole world and gave a new aspect of treating the culture and history of this mountainous area. In view of the Ural writer jubilee, the year 2022 was announced the year of Mamin-Sibiryak in Sverdlovsk region. Jubilee of an outstanding person is always a motive to recollect his creative activity and heritage. UrFU Library collection offers the writer’s books as well as numerous investigations into his life. Among the recent researches the attention should be focused on those by N. M. Paegle, I. A. Dergachyov, L. I. Minochkina. Library Catalogue helps to check their availability at the circulation desks, reading rooms and information centres. The major works of the Ural writer are displayed at the exhibition «Dmitry Narkisovich Mamin-Sibiryak (1852-1912)» held at the Circulation Desk of Humanities (4 Turgeneva St., room 252). The basic sections of the exposition feature D. N. Mamin-Sibiryak’s literary heritage and items devoted to his life and activity. The exhibition will last until December 1. |
