Engineers of the Future Are Trained in the Ural Federal University

The World Engineering Day for Sustainable Development (its full name) is celebrated worldwide on 4th March of each year. It is a holiday of technical thought and action, and of everyone contributing to the growth of scientific and technological progress on the planet. Engineering have been playing a central role in the world development for millennia. Engineering principles are used in construction, power engineering, water-supply, computing and information technologies, automotive engineering, infrastructure development, etc.
UrFU is a multi-disciplinary university. However, more than 63% of students take engineering programs. According to the Rector Victor Koksharov, successful defending of the project “Ural advanced engineering school” was a key achievement of the year 2022. It is targeted at establishing a world-class engineering school. The University is planning to train over 1500 engineers with high competences in the field of digital technologies by 2030.
UrFU Library invites to study the diversity of resources in engineering in Russian and foreign languages. Traditional printed books are kept at the Circulation Desk of Technics and Engineering and in the Reading Room of Technics and Engineering (19 Mira St.). Books availability can be checked in the Library Catalogue. You can also expand your study by using full-text books in Electronic Library Systems. The Reading Room of Scientific Technics and Engineering and databases eLIBRARY.RU and East View provide access to academic journals in engineering. Library specialists not only find the necessary source but, if required, will eagerly consult you in searching in electronic catalogues and other e-resources.
