Anniversary Books of 2024
____

The Library invites readers to an exhibition of fiction in English, French, and German dedicated to anniversary books. The doors of the foreign literature department will open for you to explore works that have stood the test of time, from heroic tales of Robin Hood (490 years) and Ivanhoe (205), to the hilarious adventures of Candide (265), Huckleberry Finn (140), and Oliver Twist (185). Fans of the 20th-century literature can find at the exhibition popular books such as ‘Mary Poppins’ (90), ‘A Farewell to Arms’ (95), and the youngest but no less exciting book about a boy wizard – ‘Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban’ (25).

This selection is interesting because it introduces you to the favourite works from different eras and countries. By reading from the ‘youngest’ to the ‘oldest’ book, you can experience a real journey through time, and by studying works vice versa, you can trace the development of world literary heritage and social thought.

We invite you to explore these and other anniversary books of 2024 at the Department of Foreign Literature of the University Library (4, Turgeneva St., room 356) from Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, and on Saturday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. The exhibition will run until the end of the year. You are welcome!
