The Library continues to acquaint you with the brands and symbols of the Sverdlovsk region that create its unique image for tourists and visitors. To meet these symbols means to go out to the city`s streets… Ekaterinburg is known as the Russia`s street art capital. There are art objects everywhere, made by talented masters in different years. Ekaterinburg is a city of loud speaking streets. Every summer the “Stenograffia” street art festival traditionally is arranged. “Stenograffia” is the largest international street art festival provided in Ekaterinburg by the Street Art Agency since 2010. The main goal of the event is changing of the city space. The city administration is ready to make advances for the street artists, and to transform fences of construction and industrial sites of Ural capital into the canvas for artworks. During the last years more than 300 artists of Russia and the world have made about 600 street art objects. It`s 40.000 square meters of painted surface! Street art is accepted with delight by citizens and the city`s guests. Everybody knows the Supremacist cross on the 1st Five-Year Plan Square (work by Pokras Lampas), philosophical installation on the Dam (Plotinka): “Who are we, where are we from, where are we going?” by famous street artist Timofey Rahdy, panorama “The girl under blanket» at 12 Antona Valeka St., (the work by local artist Slava PTRK) and many other art objects. The edition will be interesting not only for tourists but for local citizens as well giving them the opportunity to look at the city from a new side.
