№1. How do I get to the Library? Ural Federal University Library is located at three sites at the following addresses: • 19 Mira St. • 4 Turgeneva St. • 48 Kuybysheva St. Addresses, opening hours and other information about information centres, reading rooms and circulation desks can be found on the Library's website and its English version. №2. How to become a library reader? On your student ID card, you will find a barcode, which is your electronic library card. With the barcode you can visit any department of the Library and use its unlimited information resources and possibilities. №3. Where can I get the textbooks? From the first days of September the Library starts mass lending of textbooks. To receive the basic set of textbooks for the 1st year of study, heads of groups (старосты не могут быть teacher) sign up their groups in the special section “Borrowing textbooks” on the Library website for a convenient time. The set is issued individually only after your group has received the textbooks. Please check the details in person at the circulation desk. №4. What electronic resources does the Library have? Is it possible to download free textbooks? You will learn the answers to these questions this autumn in the course “The Basics of Information and Bibliographic Culture” (BIBC), which the Library traditionally holds for first-year students in the first semester by order of the Rector. Library staff will introduce you to all the services and facilities, many of which are available online. Keep an eye on the schedule! №5. Does the library have social media accounts? The library has two representations in the social network ‘VKontakte’: groups “Accessible Science” (vk.com/science_urfu) and “Ural Federal University Library” (vk.com/bibcluburfu), an English-language channel in Telegram – ‘UrFU Library’ (t. me/urfu_library_international) and a book chatbot in Telegram where you can get a book recommendation from the Library's collection by subject/genre request or by randomization – ‘UrFU Library Recommends’ (t.me/urfulib_booksbot). Here you will quickly get up-to-date information about loan periods of literature, work schedule, new literature, news and events of the Library, and you can also ask questions in personal messages of the groups.
