Are you preparing your course work, master’s thesis or PhD dissertation? Any problems with information search? Where? How? Definitely, the world web is overloaded with information sources, various browsers assure you that they know everything and surfing the Internet you can find everything. However, the question is whether you can trust this information. Because writing an academic paper needs academic information, that must be authentic, reliable, relevant, up-to-date, peer-reviewed. And the Internet can not guarantee all these requirements. Specific academic information is compiled in special academic resources – various databases. For the purpose to facilitate your educational and research activity UrFU purchased a considerable number of the world leading databases. What are these? How can I access them? Can I download full texts of documents? How should I choose a journal for publication?

The answers to these and many other questions you can find in the Library information centres. Moreover, Library Resources Information Centre located in 19 Mira St., room Б-202 provides group seminars in English for bachelors, master students and postgraduates. Seminars are held offline and online. At a seminar you will learn:

• about the scientific resources (Russian and international databases) purchased or generated by the university useful for a young researcher;
• how to select the sources subject related with your forthcoming paper’s topic;
• about the authoritative journal rankings;
• about bibliometric indicators analyzing, estimating and comparing journals and authors’ publication activity;
• about the interlibrary loan service;
• some life hacks on compiling information retrieval and will train them in practice.

You can request such a seminar online just filling in the request form:
• in the section “Seminars” on the English version of the Library site
• in the section “Seminar request” in VK “Accessible science” («Доступная наука») group.

You can also request the seminar in person in Information Centre of Library Resources (19 Mira St., room Б-202).
