Once again, as part of the Day of Russian Science, the Library has prepared a new program of scientific seminars for listeners. These seminars will take place from February 10th to 14th, both offline in the Library and online.

All proposed seminar topics are relevant to the successful implementation of the university's scientific and educational activities.

The highlight will be a discussion on the application of generative artificial intelligence in higher education. Professors from the Moscow State Pedagogical University, who are the authors of methodological guidelines on using this modern and still under-explored technology for philology students at their university (these guidelines can be easily applied to other fields of study), will personally present their experience. Participants will be able to ask them questions online and engage in discussion. In addition, this same seminar will offer a discussion of AI assistants for science and education developed by the Institute for Scientific Foresight and Scientometrics.

No less important are seminars dedicated to addressing such crucial issues as the application of patent analytics in dissertation research, presented by, among others, experts of the UrFU Intellectual Property Center, as well as the question of choosing a source for publishing research results, presented by, among others, employees of the UrFU Publishing and Printing Center.

The Library will also address relevant topics. Its specialists traditionally cover issues related to describing different types of documents, helping to navigate the complex rules for creating lists and citations, including electronic sources (articles from electronic journals, company websites, other Internet documents), as well as citations according to foreign styles of description for journals in various fields. It's no secret that description rules change from time to time, sometimes drastically. Tracking them independently can be difficult, but the university Library specialists are always ready to help overcome problems with source descriptions, and can even perform them as a paid service (price list available on the Ural Federal University Library website). In addition, the Library offers a now-regular seminar in English for international students, covering relevant Library resources, services, and facilities.

The seminars are aimed not only at young researchers, but all interested parties are invited—bachelors, specialists, master's students, postgraduates, including foreign ones, professors of Ural Federal University and other universities and information institutions of the Russian Federation, publishing houses, and librarians.

All Library events are mainly scheduled from 2:00 PM (there are differences, you should see the program), online participation is also possible. Listeners can receive an electronic certificate from the Ural Federal University Library for participating in all seminars (provided they are registered for them).
