«Yunost» («Youth») is a famous Russian literary and art illustrated magazine for young people, founded in 1955 on the initiative of Russian writer and poet Valentin Katayev, its first editor-in-chief. In 2025, the legendary magazine celebrates its 70th anniversary.

«Yunost» always tried to keep up with the times: the editorial board set itself the task of searching for new literary names, thanks to this the names of young writers appeared on the pages of the magazine. Its unique difference from other literary magazines was its openness and interest in social life and the surrounding world. The magazine is published even nowadays. Today it publishes literary novels, news from the world of literary awards and book fairs.

To the anniversary of the magazine in 2024, a documentary film «Yunost ‒ a magazine looking into the future» was released, telling about the glorious past of the unique edition and its honorable present. The movie contains a lot of archival newsreel footage of famous Soviet poets, writers and artists. Photographs and animation materials serve as a bright addition to the newsreel.

The Circulation Desk of Humanitarian Periodicals of the University Library (4 Turgeneva St., room 266) holds the archive of «Yunost» from 1955 to 2018. The journals missing in the library's collection can be found in electronic resources by subscription ‒ the database East View contains issues from 2013 to 2024.
