The exhibition "Interpreting the Classics: Books that have been the basis for iconic films in cinema history" is dedicated to books that are the basis for cult films. Here are presented works of literature that inspired directors to create iconic films that left a deep mark on world culture. At our exhibition, visitors will be able to see editions of novels the plots of which were adapted for the cinema screen, illustrations from films and premiere posters. The exposition allows you to immerse yourself in the world of literary sources of great film adaptations, demonstrating the creative process of turning the printed word into a moving image.

The publications presented at the exhibition are mostly works of classical literature. It is these books that most often form the basis for plots in world cinema. For example, the legendary adaptations of the works by Jane Austen and Charlotte Bronte, or modern masterpieces created based on the works by Stephen King and John Tolkien…

A visit to the exhibition will be a fascinating journey through time, an immersion into the history of cinema and an understanding of the role of books in the formation of modern visual culture.
