Umberto Eco. The Name of the Rose. The main theme of the new book exhibition at The Circulation Desk of Foreign Literature (4 Turgeneva St., room 356) is the history of Medieval Ages. At the exhibition there are books in English, German, French, Spanish, Polish and Serbian languages. The books show the versatility of the Middle Ages. Exhibition materials include fiction, historical research books about culture and treatises of medieval philosophers. As a reader, you can get acquainted with the issues of the French journal “Dossier De L’Art”. It consists of articles about medieval European art. These journals are rich in illustrations. A large selection of works about the history of the Middle Ages in Western, Central and South-Eastern Europe, Russia, Byzantium, and the countries of the East is also shown at the exhibition. Thematic aspects cover political history, the gender history, the history of costume, the history of religion, etc. The items about the history of Byzantium in Serbian language are especially fascinating.
