The University Library continues its series of events dedicated to the 300th anniversary of Yekaterinburg. On November 30th at 4:00 PM, there will be a poetry evening featuring Evgeny Kuznetsov, a veteran mountaineer, member of the Union of Writers of Russia, and former lecturer at Ural Federal University (UrFU). The meeting will take place in the Scientific Technics & Engineering Reading Room (19 Mira Street, Room Б-301).

Evgeny Sergeyevich Kuznetsov began mountaineering in 1959, and he has numerous ascents of various difficulty levels to his name, including Mount Belukha, the highest peak in Altai and Siberia. By the way, Evgeny Kuznetsov has been to Mount Belukha at least twice. Once in the distant year of 1963 when the expedition members experienced many dangerous moments and even risked not returning, and again in 2014 with a jubilee expedition commemorating the 100th anniversary of the first ascent to the summit. Evgeny Sergeyevich will tell the guests of the meeting about these and other expeditions, presenting the film Belukha 1963.

During the poetry evening, the author will introduce readers to his 20-year literary work. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear his life-affirming poems about life, homeland, and, of course, mountains, experiencing their sincerity and love for the native nature.

Admission is free for UrFU students and staff. Everyone interested is invited.

Detailed information is available on the Library's website and in the Library's account on the VK social network.
