In the year of the 300th anniversary of the city, Library acquaints its users with Yekaterinburg cultural heritage.
«Yekaterinburg in Literary Lines» is the name of a virtual book exhibition-guide to the city’s literary life. It comprises reviews-recommendations on the books by Yekaterinburg writers.
Our city has a rich literary history associated with the names of famous writers and poets, such as Vladislav Krapivin, Boris Ryzhy, Yuri Kazarin, Nikolay Kolyada, Anna Matveyeva, Alexei Ivanov, and many others. Dmitry Mamin-Sibiryak and Pavel Bazhov are undoubtedly symbolic figures for the region. The folk works of these authors go on fascinating with their language and images up to this day.
Today the Ural authors’ books are in great demand and resonate with modern readers. These works facilitate studying the history and culture of Yekaterinburg, expand and enrich the knowledge of one of the Russia’s largest cities.
The reviews-recommendations on Yekaterinburg writers’ books have been prepared by the 2nd year master students of the Department of Linguistics of the Ural Institute of Humanities, Arina Balandina and Eugene Melnikov, during educational translation practice in UrFU Library. The translation was edited by Natalia Krasnogor, chief librarian of Information Centre of library resources.
So we invite you to make an exciting book-tour of the capital of the Urals!
