The virtual exhibition is dedicated to the Ural Federal University named after the first President of Russia B.N. Yeltsin, created in 2009 by decree of the President of the Russian Federation on the basis of the Ural State Technical University - UPI named after the first President of Russia B. N. Yeltsin with the subsequent joining in 2011 of the Ural State University named after A. M. Gorky.

Nowadays, the university is an authoritative scientific and educational center of the Ural region, leading fundamental and applied research in the most important areas and technology. UrFU actively cooperates with academic institutions and industrial enterprises in the formation and implementation of programs of innovative development of the Urals, university is a platform for cultural events in Yekaterinburg.

Over the years, outstanding scientists and teachers - academicians, corresponding members of the Russian Academy of Sciences - have worked and continue to work at the university. Among the most famous graduates are statesmen, cultural workers, entrepreneurs, heads of organisations, athletes.

The rich experience of scientific and educational activities is reflected in the pages of encyclopedic and reference publications of the all-Russian and regional levels. The presented collection includes from the library fund and free access electronic resources.

The exhibition includes two sections: "History of the Ural Federal University" and "Outstanding Scientists of UrFU". The first section contains authoritative reference publications of federal and local publishing houses, as well as free access electronic resources reflecting the history of the university, the opening of faculties, events from the life of the university, and more. The second section includes publications dedicated to outstanding scientists and graduates of the Ural Federal University.

The preparation of the exhibition was attended by: M. V. Stakheeva, S. A. Churkina, N. L. Krasnogor.

The translation from Russian into English was performed by Gurkina Nika Alekseevna, a second-year master's student of the Linguistics direction, edited by Natalia Krasnogor, Library Section Head.
