Gradovsky Alexander Dmitriyevich (1841-1889). Historian, publicist. Graduated from the Kharkov University with a Ph.D. degree, served in Kharkov, Voronezh. In 1866 he defended his dissertation at the Saint Petersburg University and, as Professor of law, he simultaneously occupied three chairs at the University: The Theory of State Law, State Law of the Major European States and Russian State Law. In the same year he was appointed to the professor position at the Imperial Alexander Lyceum and stayed there until 1889. As a scientist, A. D. Gradovsky founded the science of Russian State Law to which was devoted his fundamental work "The Elements of Russian State Law”. The context of other A. D.
